Pietro Marchese webmaster in Palermo
Hi my name is Pietro Marchese and I am a web designer from Palermo of about 40 years, with twenty years of experience in the field of website creation, web portals and web server manager.
I made my first website in 1998 almost as a joke by creating a website dedicated to one of my favorite musical band "Living Colour" and using a LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) installed on my old PC using the distribution (operating system based on the Linux kernel) GNU / Slackware, utilizing only Open Source software.
In the years after I continued to use GNU / Linux distributions like RedHat, CentOS, Debian and its derivatives like Ubuntu and Mint enriching my knowledge about web design, PHP programming languages and server management as LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL and PHP). After a few years I used my first CMS (Content Management System) PHP-Nuke.
My skills as a web designer include:

- The creation of website graphics
- Programming in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
- The management, maintenance and security of LAMP servers
- Digital marketing
- The development of adaptable websites for every type of device (laptop, smartphone, tablet, PC) using the implementation of Bootstrap Responsive technology
- The indexing and positioning of the website in the most important search engines such as Yahoo, Bing and Google. Using the best practices of SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
- The creation of portals and websites based on the most important CMS like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal
- The development of E-Commerce sites using Magento, PrestaShop, Drupal Commerce and WooCommerce
In addition to being a webmaster who operates in Palermo I also have a Cisco certification as a network administrator that allowed me to work in Bilbao (Spain) and in Dublin (Ireland) in the IT (Information Technology) area.
