Search engine positioning

Search engine positioning means the way in which search engines insert a website into the SERP acronym of "Search Engine Results Page"

Although there are many guides and articles on search engines positioning on the web, there is often confusion between indexing and positioning.

Indexing is the inclusion of a website within the database of a search engine in order to let know the existence of a new website or its modifications.

For positioning we mean the optimization operation ( SEO - Search Engine Optimization ) through which obtaining a good ranking (positioning) in the SERP a site will appear in the search results in a position as relevant and favorable as possible trying to get a place in the first page of search engines like Bing, Google or Yahoo.

There are different types of search engine results, including those based on pay per click (PPC) which is nothing more than the payment of online advertising.

Other types are the organic results, this type of results are not paid but the result of algorithms used by search engines that scan the web and provide for the positioning of the website in the SERP.
